Wednesday Wishes, #5

The sun is finally shining and the warm weather has arrived! Although I know we should be in spring the weather is teasing us with 80 – 85 degree days and I want to play like it’s summer! But sadly the 60 degree days will be back by the weekend.

Join me in Wednesday Wishes!

Wednesday Wishes

My Wednesday Wish is . . .

  • That my training for my 10K continues to go well! I did 2 really good runs this week and have another one on Saturday.
  • That I have a chance to get my nails done in the next few days. They are looking rough.
  • That my trainings (on 3 different topics) go well today, tomorrow and Friday.
  • That my boy will put me out of my suspense (I am not good at waiting) and make things official.
  • That I will hear about a few of the possibilities that I have put out there.
  • That I can focus on my healthy eating again and stop making choices that make me feel sick. I do know the difference now I need to follow it.

Please share your Wednesday Wishes!

Be your own Motivation (Monday)

Sometimes you just need to be your own motivation! I decided this morning that I just couldn’t get out of bed at 6AM to workout. I know I made the right decision I was just not feeling all that well when I woke up. I decided to sleep for another hour, and although I still didn’t feel great I forced myself to come to work. I figured calling in sick on a Monday is never good unless you are REALLY REALLY sick and well folks I wasn’t. My tummy didn’t like me very much but I powered through. Then I took a look at the weather and just knew I needed to be outside! I needed to feel the warmth of the sunshine on my face. I needed to breath the fresh air, although I might pay for that later when I have a sinus headache. So I decided to get my run done early today and do it at lunch time. Luckily I am a good planner and had a full set of clothes to change in to work out with and some “stuff” to clean up after since I don’t have access to a shower at work.

I walked outside and instantly felt the love on the sunshine and warmness that I have missed these last couple of months. I was able to run in a t-shirt! No fleece, no gloves, no long sleeve shirt required. I only had my phone with me (no need for tissues) and my heart rate monitor on! It was a great run! I felt great and I went the fastest I have gone, EVER!

So today I am my own motivation!

The land of Mickey

This past weekend I went to Orlando for a long weekend. I have a dear friend who moved there in June so this was my first chance to go visit her. It was a great weekend to be in the Disney area…there were lot’s to do, see and participate in! Here’s a recap of the fun that as had by all! Ok mainly me…but that’s what this blog is about right…my happiness (which right now is in abundance)!
Thursday: Delayed flight, but worked out in my favor because I was able to grab lunch at the airport (i was starving!) and enjoy it instead of taking it on board. Landed in Orlando and off to the Magic Kingdom we went. It was Disney’s Not So Scary Halloween Party that night so many of the people were dressed up. I don’t do costumes though so instead I went with a cute t-shirt. As we walked in we entered the happiest place on earth!

We started with Space Mountain (let me tell you much scarier as an adult) and it was awesome! We also did Pirates of the Caribbean, It’s a Small World, Pooh’s Adventure and a bunch of others, I didn’t mark them down. The highlight of my night was the fireworks and then meeting some characters.

Friday: Day of relaxation! We went shopping, had lunch, went to the pool, and had an AWESOME sushi dinner at Shari. My friend lives downtown so we saw lots of the “nightlife” without having to really deal with any crazy people. It’s sad but I just might be too old for the club scene, and actually I am ok with that!

Saturday: Epcot Food and Wine Festival!! Amazing food, wine, friends and fun! We walked around Epcot for hours and hours sampling food from all the different countries and tasting some wine or beer along the way. My favorite was a toss up between the fish tacos in Mexico and the hand roll in Japan. Although some of the other choices were quite delectable. Each time you walked through a country you were transported the local culture.

We were lucky enough to catch the sun set over Epcot which was gorgeous….I wanted to just snap hundreds of pictures!

I was too lazy to bring my real camera so I ended up with amazing iPhone photos! Have to love modern technology! We also made a quick stop in downtown Disney so I could pick up some gifts on Saturday night.

Sunday: day of relaxation 2…we went to the Spa at the Gaylord Palms, Relache. I had a massage, but I feel like the rain shower was the highlight of the experience. It was all computer controlled and had like water jets from 5 different locations! It was a bit crazy, but also awesome! We then had brunch at the Villa de Flora (a Mediterranean cuisine themed restaurant) with mimosas. The food was awesome and I wish I could have eaten more, but not possible. I did have this guy for dessert (yes that’s a Shrek waffle).

So overall it was a great trip! I am looking forward to going back…but also happy to be home for a few weeks. Lots going on in my personal and professional life (I will save that for another post) that I want to enjoy!

What did you do this weekend?

All you need is sunshine and water!

And of course preferably not at the same time because if water is falling from the sky you aren’t usually seeing any sunshine. I am sure you have started to ask yourself by now “What is she talking about?”. Well to be honest I was joking with someone today that I am solar powered…it’s been raining and cloudy a lot around these parts so I was VERY happy to see a little sunshine today. I even took a break at lunchtime so I could bask in the glory of the sun! I enjoyed a few minutes of fresh air and sun while I drove to pick up some lunch.

The other thing I realized today (once again, I need the reminder) you never regret going to to work out. I really did not want to head over to the gum for Zumba toning, but it was a great workout! Lot’s of fun, and great to sweat away the day. Of course lots of water was part of the workout so there’s another tie in to my needs of life.

What do you need to survive?
