It’s been a rough week, and today isn’t going to be great! But instead of complaining I am focusing on the POSITIVE. So by doing this link up I am still giving a high five for Friday!!

1. Dinner from Thursday night. We celebrated a friend’s birthday at Iron Bridge Wine, I had a hamburger and it was AMAZING!! And the fries,  not sure what they did, but wow they tasted good.

2. My new love, Chobani Mint Chip Greek yogurt. This may just change your life. Go have some.

3. Wine (well sparking moscato to be exact) and it was AWESOME as well! Also from dinner on Thursday.

4. Cute bear. . . we went to the National  zoo on Sunday and he was one of the cute creatures we saw.

5. Water bottle! I broke this out on Monday and have fallen in love with drinking water from it. Usually I don’t like metal water bottles, but this one is just great.

What high fives do you have for Friday?

High Five for Friday, #3

Happy Friday folks! We made it through another week. I am happy to report I was fairly unscathed in the process. And here’s the newest H54F post to link up with Lauren!

My week since Saturday . . .

Zooma! Yup you read that right, I did a 10K on Saturday with my forever friend. We had fun, despite the heat. Short Ribs: Dinner on Thursday night at Iron Bridge was delish, so here’s the short ribs I had and of course
Wine: It was a sparkling pinot noir! That’s a new one for me.
Cute Shoes! Need I say more? Bought these at DSW a few weeks ago and finally managed to take them out of the closet. They are a bit tight right now (need to break them in) but so cute with the poka dots and red heel!
Starbucks: I had the $1 Grande Iced Coffee this morning . . . lovely way to start a Friday!

How was your week?

High Five for Friday, #2

So it’s Friday. . . YAY! But for me it was a weird week because I was only in the office for 2 days, although I am working today I am doing it from my couch. I am having a plumbing issue so I am waiting for them to come to hopefully fix it! I am hoping even more that it’s a problem with the building pipes, since i live in a condo, rather than me! Because then I don’t have to pay for it.

Here’s another installment for High Five for Friday! Courtesy of Lauren.

I made a cute collage this week instead of the separate posts:

1: Flowers: I am hoping these will be what my wedding bouquet is going to be similar to. I talked with Jim’s sister in law on Sunday (she is going to do them) and she said it’s totally do able and for less than my budget likely, even better!

2: Jim and I had a quick getaway which was definitely the highlight of my week. So Monday night we had dinner at the Harvest restaurant, it was very yummy.

3: Asti: Gotta love free sparkling!

4: Of course the massage was AWESOME! It was very relaxing, and in fact felt relaxed for a few days after. Ah how I love massages. Plus the Chocolate Spa is the perfect escape. We enjoyed peace, quite, tranquility and of course chocolate.

5: A sneak peak at my invitations. I am hoping these are what come through after a friend starts to work on the design.

Join me in High Five for Friday! What’s good stuff happened to you this week?

The land of Mickey

This past weekend I went to Orlando for a long weekend. I have a dear friend who moved there in June so this was my first chance to go visit her. It was a great weekend to be in the Disney area…there were lot’s to do, see and participate in! Here’s a recap of the fun that as had by all! Ok mainly me…but that’s what this blog is about right…my happiness (which right now is in abundance)!
Thursday: Delayed flight, but worked out in my favor because I was able to grab lunch at the airport (i was starving!) and enjoy it instead of taking it on board. Landed in Orlando and off to the Magic Kingdom we went. It was Disney’s Not So Scary Halloween Party that night so many of the people were dressed up. I don’t do costumes though so instead I went with a cute t-shirt. As we walked in we entered the happiest place on earth!

We started with Space Mountain (let me tell you much scarier as an adult) and it was awesome! We also did Pirates of the Caribbean, It’s a Small World, Pooh’s Adventure and a bunch of others, I didn’t mark them down. The highlight of my night was the fireworks and then meeting some characters.

Friday: Day of relaxation! We went shopping, had lunch, went to the pool, and had an AWESOME sushi dinner at Shari. My friend lives downtown so we saw lots of the “nightlife” without having to really deal with any crazy people. It’s sad but I just might be too old for the club scene, and actually I am ok with that!

Saturday: Epcot Food and Wine Festival!! Amazing food, wine, friends and fun! We walked around Epcot for hours and hours sampling food from all the different countries and tasting some wine or beer along the way. My favorite was a toss up between the fish tacos in Mexico and the hand roll in Japan. Although some of the other choices were quite delectable. Each time you walked through a country you were transported the local culture.

We were lucky enough to catch the sun set over Epcot which was gorgeous….I wanted to just snap hundreds of pictures!

I was too lazy to bring my real camera so I ended up with amazing iPhone photos! Have to love modern technology! We also made a quick stop in downtown Disney so I could pick up some gifts on Saturday night.

Sunday: day of relaxation 2…we went to the Spa at the Gaylord Palms, Relache. I had a massage, but I feel like the rain shower was the highlight of the experience. It was all computer controlled and had like water jets from 5 different locations! It was a bit crazy, but also awesome! We then had brunch at the Villa de Flora (a Mediterranean cuisine themed restaurant) with mimosas. The food was awesome and I wish I could have eaten more, but not possible. I did have this guy for dessert (yes that’s a Shrek waffle).

So overall it was a great trip! I am looking forward to going back…but also happy to be home for a few weeks. Lots going on in my personal and professional life (I will save that for another post) that I want to enjoy!

What did you do this weekend?

Be Free. Be Happy. Be You.

Be Free. Be Happy. Be You.

This inspired me to take a few minutes and update about life.

It’s been a crazy few weeks. I was in NY for work, Nashville for fun, and then really busy with life. I have been good about taking photos so tonight may be photo updates.

In NY just did the usual work thing, but flew through LaGuardia airport. If you have never been there don’t go…if you have to be there prepare yourself. It’s so not fun! I think it have been spoiled by the prettiness of BWI but really it’s kind of gross. Not a lot of food options, not a lot of seating, it’s dark and looks dirty (ok off the soap box).

I was home for 48 hours then off to Nashville for my birthday weekend. We went to the world’s largest tree house in the Crossville TN. I have some pictures to post later. I also hit up Arrington Vineyards (owned by Kix Brooks) and the Frist museum for visual arts.  Of course no trip to Nashville is complete without some time at the Second Fiddle, my favorite Nashville honky tonk.

This past week I have no idea what kept me so busy, but I do remember I had dinner with a few different friends as part of birthday celebrations. I also had a small b-day celebration at Second Chance Saloon, saw my friend’s band (the Project) and went to the Lady Antebellum concert at Merriweather.

So I feel free, happy and just me because of all the fun stuff I have been up to lately. I think I have also made a few decisions about life this past weekend and I am excited to start the next chapter for year 33.

What makes you feel happy?
