Easing into 2014

I have decided to finally start some goals for 2014. I have one major goal, Enjoy! Yes I get that sounds so simple, but yet for me it can be hard. I am a go go go type of person so to sit back and just enjoy the moment can be hard because I am always thinking about the next big thing. I am going to make a conscious effort to just enjoy life as it comes. Of course that doesn’t mean I am not going to plan, but I also want to make sure I life in the moment and enjoy my time relaxing. The perfect example was last night I enjoyed sitting on the couch, watching Family Feud, and painting my nails.

Right now my biggest enjoyment is Marriage:

Yes it’s cold

Like really, really cold! It was 4 degrees this morning at my house, with a windchill of like -15! But the bright side of the wind chill (making it below zero), no ice on the windshield! I am so not a fan of scraping ice off the windshield. I love my SUV but dang it’s hard to get to the middle of that windshield since I am shorty. Although one of my Christmas presents to me was a remote start in my car, which I am loving yet struggling with because it uses my gas when I am not going anywhere, thereby making my gas mileage worse. That I guess is a small price to pay for warmth, right?!?

So it’s a new year, and it always makes me thing of the weight watchers commercials New Year, New You. Well you know what I like me, and I don’t need a new me. I could make some improvements, sure, but I don’t need an entirely new me for 2014. I am happy with my life and of course a bit more discipline would be great for the new year, but an entirely new person is not necessary. I did purchase one of my favorite gadgets again, the FitBit.  I went with the FitBit Zip this time around instead of the FitBit One or Flex since I don’t like to use it when I sleep.

As I contemplate the new year I am thinking what my goals for 2014 will be. Yes I know I said the same thing in the last post so perhaps it’s time to get going. One thing I am committing to for January is a plank challenge (because you  know you can do a plank pretty much anywhere). Below is the plank list:

The 30 Day Plank Challenge will send your core strength through the roof! Yes, all you have to do is HOLD this position, nothing else! It looks pretty easy, but it isn’t!

What are you 2014 goals you have been thinking about?

Happy New Year!

It’s already January 2nd and sometimes I sit and reflect on where time goes. I can certainly say my life is unbelievably different that it was a year ago, and I imagine it might feel the same way come January of 2015. My posts of days past that talked about being in that same place and nothing changes are a thing of the past, and instead I am encouraged by the future and all it’s changes. Somewhere along the way I realized life happens when we least expect it, so plan all you want but take in the little surprises life has in store for you!

I know I have in 2013 and I can say I don’t regret one thing! My year started in Nashville, TN, I completed a half marathon, I got engaged, and 6 short months later I was married! I visited a number if cities in the US and traveled abroad to Aruba!

Stay tuned to 2014 goals coming up!
